Raising Children of the Earth

In today's world, parents face numerous challenges, including intergenerational amnesia and a disconnection from the Earth and its cycles. This community seeks to address these issues by creating a safe and supportive space for parents to raise their children within a culture of earth connection. Our vision is to establish an inclusive community where parents can rediscover the wisdom of our ancestors, connect with the natural world, and discover how to bring Earth Centred ways of being to our family nests.

By joining our community you will recieve access to:

• An Online Community (the nest) where you can meet and recieve support from other parents and supporters on this path of Raising Children of the Earth.
• Community-wide events, such as seasonal celebrations, moon rituals, rites of passage, storytelling nights, or collaborative art projects and nature walks for the whole family that promote Earth Connection.
• Guest Speakers and Workshops, around the ideas of Raising Children of the Earth.
• Chapters of the book "Raising Children of the Earth" written by community founder, Sarah Woodrow with the support of Elder Mentor, Gail Burkett.
• Parenting Circles, groups that are formed based on interest or location who can provide sacred safe spaces for support and solidarity. Training on these parenting circles is provided in the community.
• Some extra pay for events, which will be available to supporters of the community at a discount.
• Over time, together, we will build a library of community created resources that you will be able to access.

Funding

We offer tiers through which you can offer support, however we want to make our community resources accessible to all. A goal of this community is that it becomes a regenerative value network. A regenerative value network is a dynamic and interconnected system that operates with the intention of creating positive and sustainable outcomes for all participants involved. It goes beyond the traditional model of extracting value and instead focuses on nurturing, circulating and replenishing resources. Our aim is to ensure everyone involved is paid for their time and that extra money is re-invested into the community. We ask each member to provide some investment, however small in order to ensure we can support the community in these goals.

Governance

This community is run using prosocial principles with a clear governance framework in order to create a nurturing and supportive environment. Together, we foster an interconnected web of support, where everyone's unique gifts and perspectives contribute to the collective wisdom and well-being of our community and beyond.

We ask everyone to cultivate an atmosphere rooted in respect, empathy, and inclusivity, not only among our community members but also towards the entire interconnected web of life. The goal of the community is to nurture a pro-ecological mindset that naturally extends acts of kindness, empathy, support, and cooperation to all beings, fostering a sense of interconnected well-being and flourishing for the entire community and the wider world. Together, we honour and nurture the sacredness of all life on Earth.

Intergenerational, Earth Centred and Regenerative

Earth-centred values are at the core of our community, including regenerative practices, connection with nature, and environmental stewardship. We uphold these values and inspire others to align their actions and choices with the well-being of the Earth and future generations. This work is all about taking on a deep sense of responsibility and making meaningful steps towards improving humanity’s relationship with the living world. Together, we strive to create a regenerative community that fosters a thriving planet and leaves a positive impact on the Earth for at least 7 generations to come, while working with all the generations that are present to witness this time.

Solidarity, Learning/Unlearning and Growth

We are here to create a culture deeply rooted in our connection to the Earth, where mutual support, continuous learning, and personal growth flourish within our community. We ask members to actively engage in sharing resources, insights, and experiences that not only contribute to our collective wisdom but also deepen our understanding of our place within the natural world. We will support and uplift one another, celebrating each other's successes as milestones on our shared Earth-centred path. In times of challenge, we will extend a helping hand, knowing that our interconnectedness strengthens us all. Through acts of mutual support and solidarity, we forge deeper bonds of belonging and interconnectedness, nurturing an ecosystem of growth where everyone's unique journey is honoured and celebrated. As we collectively evolve and thrive, we remain grounded in the wisdom and harmony of the Earth.

Sacred Safe Spaces, Consent, Confidentiality and Privacy

We prioritise consent and the establishment of clear boundaries within the community. We ask members to seek and respect consent in all interactions and respect each other's personal boundaries, particularly around what is shared about their families and children. All members should respect the confidentiality and privacy of community members and refrain from sharing personal or sensitive information without consent. Establish guidelines to protect privacy in online discussions and activities. By nurturing a culture of consent, boundaries, and privacy, we create a safe and empowering space where each person's rights and well-being are cherished and upheld, aligning with our Earth-centred values of respect and harmony.
